Planning a visit to Perth? Our Chief Concierge and Member Les Clefs d’Or Australia, Brad Smith, shares his best tips on how to make the most of your time staying in the city.

Morning – Wake up feeling refreshed and revitalised at InterContinental Perth City Centre before enjoying a leisurely breakfast of fresh fruit, waffles, pancakes or the classic bacon and eggs. After breakfast you’ll be ready to start the day. Step outside and explore the beautiful boutiques along King Street, discover the laneways or make your way down to Elizabeth Quay on the waterfront where you can bask in the sunshine and treat yourself to a gelato. Those wanting to venture further can jump aboard a ferry on the Swan River that will take you to Fremantle and Rottnest Island – maybe you’ll even get a selfie with a Quokka!

Afternoon – If you happen to find yourself in Fremantle, lose yourself in the old charm that the port town offers, with historic buildings dating back to the 19th century. Wander the markets, have a guided tour of Fremantle Prison, dip your toes in the Indian Ocean or simply take it all in while enjoying a local craft beer at one of the many bars. Alternatively, those wanting to indulge will enjoy the High Tea offered at The Loft Lounge and Bar. With a delicious assortment of sweet and savoury treats prepared by our chefs and a glass of sparkling wine on arrival, it’s the perfect way to enjoy a relaxing afternoon.

Evening – Watching the sun set over the Indian Ocean is a must for any new visitor to Western Australia. After making your way back to the hotel, why not enjoy a Worldly Classic cocktail on the terrace at The Loft before heading to dinner at either Ascua or Heno & Rey, both of which serve delicious dishes showcasing the best of Western Australian flavours. Just be sure to book the restaurant of your choice in advance!
