Visit Rottnest Island and you’ll not only be treated to stunning views from every point on the island, but you may also find yourself meeting one of the friendly local Quokkas. Described as the ‘World’s Happiest Animal’ the Quokka has also been known to enjoy a selfie, having posed with the likes of Roger Federer, Margot Robbie and Hugh Jackman.
Back on the mainland, Cottesloe’s postcard-perfect beach is the ideal spot for brunch with a view, people-watching or family fun. Head slightly south and you’ll find Leighton Beach is filled with surfers, stand up paddle-boarders (SUP’s) and kite-surfers, all putting on a great show for those who prefer to simply relax on the sand.
A short drive north will take you to the popular Scarborough Beach. With a great track elevated from the beach, you’ll find keen runners and serious swimmers. Scarborough Beach also offers an impressive outdoor pool with views over the beautiful Indian Ocean.
Whichever beach you choose, make sure you remember your camera because these west coast sunsets are definitely something to capture!
